Peter Wehling, MD, PhD

Dr. Peter Wehling is founder and Co-Director of the „Center for Molecular Orthopaedics and Regenerative Medicine (CeMOR)“, in Düsseldorf, Germany

Dr. Peter Wehling is a Professor for Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Düsseldorf.

Furthermore, he is founder of the „Foundation for Molecular Medicine“ and of Orthogen, Düsseldorf, Germany.

Dr. Wehling is a clinician-scientist with a research focus on inflammation, cartilage destruction, disc prolapse and pain. A new target of his work is based upon clinical strategies to extend health span.

Dr. Wehling developed the Orthokine and Regenokine Porgram.

He was one of the first scientists in applying gene therapy to joint disease in cooperation with  Prof. Chris Evans, Mayo.

His clinical practice focuses mainly on sports related diseases, OA, spinal diseases and chronic pain syndromes.

Dr. Wehling is the treating physician for a wide range of top athletes from NBA, NFL, MBA, DFB, soccer, tennis, golf and olympic athletes from all over the world.

Due to his innovative and new approaches in treating sports-related injuries, he is well known in public and to many colleagues involved in sportsmedicine.

He is coauthor of the book „The End of Pain„.

Together with Dr. Hartmann, Dr. Wehling  integrates  the latest advantages in biology into a comprehensive clinical Program.

Dr. Wehling and Dr. Hartmann share the same compassion for jazz and blues, playing in different bands. Furthermore they are also avid skiers.
